Visakhapatnam land scam – DGP releases 39 fake pattadars

Director General of Police, N.Sambasiva Rao today released the names of 39 fake pattadars who entered in the land records after tampering in Kommadi and Madhurawada and others in the district.

Speaking at a press conference here, the DGP said that a Special Investigation Team was formed headed by senior IPS officer Vineet Brijlal and Visakhapatnam Joint Collector G.Srujana and RDO Vijaya Saradhi as members. He said that they would investigate the manipulation of 270 acres of government land . So far, 3 cases had been registered in the Arilova, Bheemili and Pendurthy police stations. He said that during enquiry, it was revealed that the records were tampered with but the Sub-registrar’s offices, the lands were in the name of the government. We are investigating why, who and for what purpose it had been done’, he said.

The SIT would go about in a professional manner and public could approach it with evidence. He said though the records were tampered, the government land had not been registered or encroached upon. The SIT is likely to submit the report in a couple of months, he added.
