The third party survey on station cleanliness carried out by the Quality Control of India and the findings were released by Union Minister for Railways Suresh Prabhu today ranked Visakhapatnam Railway Station is the Cleanest Railway Station.
This is followed by Secunderabad among the 75 major stations in the country today. The Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s constituency Varanasi is placed in the 14th postion in A1 category stations. Daarbhanga in Bihar is the dirtiest among these major stations classified as A1.
Vijayawada, Lucknow, Pune and Bangalore City ranked in the top ten list. In A category (Those earning between Rs.6 crore and Rs.50 crore in annual passenger revenue|), Beas secured the top followed by Khammam and Ahmednagar. Two more stations Mancherial and Warangal in Telangana got place in the top ten category.
The survey is part of ‘Swachh Rail’ campaign.
