Veteran actor and Gurudaspur MP Vinod Khanna passed away today on Thursday in Mumbai.

Vinod Khanna (70) had been suffering with cancer for long. He worked for over 100 films. He is survived by his wife Kavita Khanna sons Rahul, Akshaye and Sakshi and daughter Shradda Khanna. Before marrying Kavita, he married to Getanjali but they got later divorced.

Born on 6th October 1946 Khanna was born in a Punjabi family to Kamla and Kishanchand Khanna in Peshawar, British India now in Pakistan. He attended St. Mary's School, Mumbai until class II and then transferred to St. Xavier's High School, Delhi. In 1957, the family moved to Delhi where he attended Delhi Public School, Mathura Road. Although the family moved back to Mumbai in 1960, he was sent to Barnes School in Deolali, near Nashik.

Vinod Khanna made his film debut in 1968 with Mann Ka Meet. His famous films include Mere Apne, Mera Gaon Mera Desh, Imtihaan, Inkaar, Amar Akbar Anthony, Lahu ke Do Rang, Qurbani, Dayavaan and Jurm
