Two more YSRCP MLAs have on Telugu New Year’s day (Ugadi) switched over their loyalties to TDP.

Varupula Subba Rao of the Prathipadu constituency in East Godavari district and P.Sunil Kumar of Gudur (SC) in SPS Nellore district joined the TDP in presence of party national president Nara Chandrababu Naidu.

With the fresh switch overs, the total strength of TDP in the Assembly has gone to 114 from 104 in the 175-member House. Now, YSRCP won 67 seats while TDP 104 in the last general elections.

These two MLAs said that they were returning to TDP only to take part in the development process under Chandrababu Naidu. Sunil Kumar had won the coveted Gudur Municipal Chairman post as a TDP candidate and served the TDP in various capacities like district official spokesmen, town secretary, in-charge of some Assembly constituencies in Nellore and Chittoor district. He is a close follower of N.Prasanna Kumar Reddy who joined the YSRCP on the eve of the elections after he denied ticked by the TDP
