The truck owners in the State ended their eight day long strike on Thursday following an assurance by Transport Minister K.Atchannaidu that he would look into their issues and fine a solution within a month.

The representatives of the AP Lorry Owners’ Association after meeting the Minister and Transport Commissioner N.Balasubramanyam announced that they were calling of their strike. The general secretary of the association said that their vehicles would resume operations within the State only. Other State vehicles would not be allowed to enter into the State as their demands which were in the purview of the Union Government were yet to meet.

He said that the Minister had assured them that he would take up the issue with the Centre the main issue of third party premium. On single permit, the Minister said that he would speak with his Telangana counterpart. As far as the issued concerned and under the purview of the State government would be addressed after report by a committee that would be formed.
