Chief Minister N.Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday said that the government is planning to install CCTV cameras in all major cities and towns to reduce crime rate and keep a tab on entry and exit points.
Chandrababu Naidu inaugurated the Traffic Command Control Centre for developed in the newly built police Commissionerate said that the CCTV coverage would ensure better security surveillance. He said to cover all the lanes and by-lanes crisscrossing the city and they would need over 1500 CCTV cameras for round the clock surveillances of the city. He directed that Police Commissioner Amit Garg and the District Collector Dr.N.Yuvraj and other officials to finalize a detailed report on installation of CCTV cameras in the city.
He also launched the official website of the city police www.vizgcitypolice.gov.in. The traffic Command Control Centre is equipped with a video wall of 1250 inch LED monitors. There is plan to integrate with 160 cameras including 47 high-definition pan-tilt-zoon cameras mounted at 47 traffic junctions. A high-definition cameras will have effective range of about 500 meters. They will have vipers to handle rain.
