Popular Tamil TV actor Sai Prashant committed suicide at his residence by taking poison mixed cool drink at his residence Valasarawakkam. on Sunday according to police. Sources said that he took the step due to severe depression.

Sai Prashant has divorced his first wife and married with another girl just three months ago. His mother Lalitha Subhash was the former president of Tamil Nadu BJP and was also a member of the Regional Censor Board.

Sai Prashanth started his career as a video jockey and graduated as actor appearing in television serials like "Annamalai," "Selvi" and "Arasi." He also acted in about 10 films, including "Mundhinam Paar-theney," "Neram," "Thegidi" and "Vadacurry."

The body was shifted to Kilpauk Medical College for post-morteum.
