TTD drops iron staircase move
The TTD that faced the criticism from a cross-section of devotees has withdrew its proposal of construction an iron staircase in the temple of Lord Venkateswara Swamy. TTD EO Anil Kumar Singhal made it clear that though the intention behind setting up of emergency exit was the larger interest of the devotees, the management took the decision following reports that sentiments of a section of devotees were hurt. He said that the TTD had always respected the sentiments of the devout. Hence, orders for dismantling the temporary structure have been issued.
