The first and foremost predawn ritual ‘Subrabhatam’ will be temporarily discontinued at Tirumala from December 17 to January 14 in connection with the auspicious ‘Dhanurmasam’.
The ‘Subrabhata Seva’ which is generally organized for awakening of the presiding deity, will be replaced with the recital of ‘Thiruppavai’, a collection of about 30 ‘pasurams’ by Andal Sri Goda Devi in praise of Lord Venkateswara Swamy. The Subrabhata seva will be restored on January 15.
According to Hindu almanac, the Dhanurmasam will commence at 11.13am on December 16 and will last till January 14.
