The State government will construct 20 Lift Irrigation schemes under the Rural Infrastructure Development Fund of NABARD.
The schemes will be constructed at Srikakulam, Visakhapatnam, West Godavari, Krishna, Guntur, Prakasam, Kurnool, Kadapa and Anantapur districts. The proposed schemes are expected to benefit an ayacut of 9,965.56 hectares and will cost Rs.120.62 crore.
Of this, NABARD loan would be Rs.100.84 crore and the government will bear the remaining amount. The State government has given administrative clearance for these schemes. Five schemes would be constructed in Krishna district at an expenditure of Rs.25.53 crore. The AP State Irrigation Development Corporation Limited has been constructing and commissioning Lift Irrigation schemes.
