Magsaysay Award winner, a water conservationist Rajendra Singh wrote a letter to the National Green Tribunal while former Union Secretary E.A.S.Sarma shot off an e-mail to the Chief Secretary Dinesh Kumar on the construction of house of Chief Minister on the banks of Krishna River as illegal.

Singh said according to the laws of the land, there should not be any permanent structure on the river banks. ‘I have written a letter to the NGT chairman Justice Swatanter Kumar about the illegal construction on the Krishna flood plains and asked him to intervene’, he said.

EAS Sarma who filed a petition in the National Greet Tribunal wrote a letter to the Chief Secretary Dinesh Kumar about the illegal structures on the banks of River Krishna and sought urgent action. He attached several NGT and government orders to show that the construction was illegal.

‘Krishna Nadi Parirakshana Yatra’

Singh is scheduled to come to Amaravati on August 1 from where he is going to start the ‘Krishna Nadi Parirakshana Yatra’. He has an appoint with the AP CRDA Commissioner on August 2.
