A half Indian women was crowned a beauty queen in Tokyo on Tuesday. The victory of Monday of Priyanka Yoshikawa, a Tokyo native as Miss World Japan comes after Ariana Miyamoto became the first half-black women to represent Japan in the Miss Universe contest, one of the world’s three prominent beauty pageants. The others are Miss World and Miss International.
Priyanka Yoshikawa born in Tokyo to an Indian father and a Japanese mother. Yoshikawa, who speaks fluent Japanese and English and towered over her rivals at 1.76 metres (5ft 8in), will contest for the Miss World crown in Washington this December.
