Private Medical Colleges demand Rs.30 lakh annual fee for PG courses

On Wednesday, the Management representatives of Private Medical Colleges held discussions with the Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu, Health Minister Kamineni Srinivas and Principal Secretary (Health) Poonam Malakondaiah over fee structure.

As of now, the annual fee is fixed at Rs.3 lakh under convener quota and Rs.5.5 lakh for Management quota. The annual fee under convenor quota has been hiked to Rs.7 lakh and ‘B’ category seats to Rs.23 lakhs.

The private medical colleges have been demanding Rs.10 lakh annual fee under convenor quota and Rs.30 lakh for management quota. Source said that they made their demand clear to the government and left the talks. There is every possibility of coming to a conclusion in another round of talks said sources.
