Giving a shock to the TDP, Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan on Wednesday said that his party would not support any political party in Nandyal by-elections.
‘We have decided to be neutral in the Nandyal by-election. The Jana Sena Party will be neutral until 2019 general elections’, he said. The decision to stay neutral was taken following the feedback from the party cadre. ‘ I have nothing to do if there any claims that the JSP or I am supporting a candidate in the election’, he said.
The decision came as a surprise and blow to the ruling TDP as he had been supporting it since 2014 general elections. He campaigned for the victory of TDP-BJP combine in the last elections. The TDP has expected him to participate in the electioneering as it felt that it has become an open war between TDP and YSRCP.
All the political parties had been vying for is support in the election for the votes of the Kapu, Balija and other communities.
