Visakhapatnam Regional Passport Officer N.L.P.Chowdary on Friday said that the passport services will be available in district headquarters post offices from February 28.
Initially, these facilities will be available in YSR District, Nellore and Kurnool districts. The staff in the post office will accept the applications and the information will be posted online. He appealed the people to utilize the services. He said that the Centre has ordered to make available of the services in 56 head post office while these three districts were selected in Andhra Pradesh.
“Once fully functional, applicants who apply for their passports online through the Passport Portal will be able to schedule an appointment at these POPSK (Post Office Passport Seva Kendra) to complete the formalities,” the Ministry of External Affairs said. Passport-related kendras will be located in various states including Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Jharkhand and West Bengal, the ministry on Tuesday said.
