Police have taken YSRCP Nagari MLA Roja was taken into custody soon after she arrived at Gannavaram Airport who has been invited to participate in the National Women’s Parliament that is underway at Vijayawada.

Police have virtually surrounded her and asked her to stay as Dalai Lama will be arriving shortly at the airport today morning and was taken to a room. She was under constant surveillance and not allowed to go out of the airport.

Later police shifted her to Vijayawada and was not allowed to go to her hotel room. Police allegedly took her towards Nallapadu of Guntur district. She questioned the action of the police saying that ‘she has been extended invitation, issued pass but police prevented to move forward’.

Police shifting her to Hyderabad had dashed the Patangi toll gate and left her at her Manikonda residence.

A delegation of YSRCP leaders met the DGP Sambasiva Rao and complained him of the action of the police. The DGP said that Roja is in police custody and was detained as a precautionary measure as she will create trouble at Women’s conclave. He reportedly told the delegation that if she gives an assurance that she would not make any controversial statements at the meet, she will be permitted to attend the conclave.
