Andhra Jyothi newspaper Managing Director Vemuri Radhakrishna who failed to appear before the 17th Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court on December 5 in a defamation case filed by YSRCP MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy, has issued a Non-bailable Warrant.
The petition filed by the advocates on behalf of Radhakrishna citing health reasons were dismissed by the court. They contented that this is a small case which was also dismissed by the court. The court said that the High Court did not issue any stay orders over lower court orders. The court felt that it is not correct on his part to not honouring the court orders and issued a NBW.
However, the publisher, editor and other employees who were summoned have attended the court. The court recorded their presence and ordered to submit two sureties worth of Rs.5,000 to each of them.
It may be recalled that the YSRCP president and Leader of the Opposition in the AP Assembly YS Jagan Mohan Reddy met the Prime Minister on the issue of Special Category Status and drought situation in the State. Andhra Jyothi news paper has published items with full of false news resulting in the damage of the reputation. The Nampally court has issued summons to Radhakrishna, Publisher, Editor and another four employees. Challenging the orders of the court, Radha Krishna approached the High Court to quash the orders and the High Court dismissed the petition.
Angered over the absence of Radhakrishna in the court, the judge issued NBW and posted the case to December 26.
