NHRC directs to submit report on ‘Diwakar Bus travels accident’

The National Human Right Commission has directed the Principal Secretary, AP Medical and Health to submit a detailed report to it within four weeks.

The directions came following an advocate from Amalapuram K.Ashok lodged a complaint with the NHRC who stated that the government is shielding the management of the ill-fated bus accident. He was speaking to media on Tuesday and copies of the NHRC orders to the media persons. He wanted the Krishna District Collector to respond even now and take action against the management of Diwakar Travels and do justice to the victim families.

It may be recalled that Diwakar Travels bus fell into a culvert killing at least 11 passengers and many injured on February 28, 2017.

‘No engineering defect in bus accident’, says NHAI:: Meanwhile, the National Highway Authority of India has said that the bus accident that took place on the Vijayawada-Hyderabad National Highway-65 has no technical defect. It submitted a report to the State government. It said that the accident took place only due to heavy speed and drowsiness of the driver. It may be recalled that the NHAI Project Directed and Regional Officer visited the accident spot on the day of the accident
