Mudragada Padmanabham Padayatra – Heavy police force deployed

Instructions have been reportedly issued to Internet service providers to stop. Restrictions imposed on media

Kapu leader and former Minister Mudragada Padmanabham who is undertaking padayatra demanding the government to include Kapus, Telaga, Ontari and Balija caste people in the list of BCs, over 4,000 police personnel were deployed.

The police has promulgated Section 144 in Kirlampudi. Supporters from various parts are reaching to extend their solidarity to the Kapu leader. On Monday, leaders from Jaggampeta, Peddapuram, Prathipadu, Pithapuram and other areas met Mudragada Padmanabham.

It may be recalled that the police had obstructed his padayatra that was scheduled on November 16, 2016 on the ground that no permission was granted and Mudragada was taken to house arrest. The Kapu leader has recently announced to undertake Satyagraha yatra from Ravulapalem in East Godavari to Antarvedi for six days from January 25, 2017. The police are preparing themselves to obstruct the padayatra on the ground that it has no police permission. It may be mentioned here that the police insist Police insist on permission for Mudragada Padmanabham pada yatra for which the kapu leader is reportedly reluctant to apply for the permission.

Sources said that instructions have been issued to internet service providers to stop their services in Konaseema and Kirlampudi. The government has also imposed restrictions on media.
