The State government has revised the medical fee in the State for private medical colleges. The hike is 5% for B,C, category MBBS and BDS courses in private colleges.
However, there is no change in the fee structure in ‘A” category seats. The fee was as that of last year ie., Rs.60,000. The fee for ‘B’ category in MBBS in private medical colleges was Rs.11 lakhs last year that with the hike, it has gone to Rs.11.55 lakh. In ‘C’ category, there was no change in the guidelines issued earlier. With this the annual fee would be Rs.23.10 lakh.
With the current revision, the students have to shell down Rs.5.50 lakh for MBBS in ‘C’ category. The ‘B’ category BDS seat has been hiked to Rs.4.20 lakh from Rs.4 lakh while in ‘C’ category, the fee would be Rs.5.25 lakh from Rs.5 lakh.
However, sources said that there was no change in the fee structure for B,C category seats in minority colleges. There is no change in ‘A’ category seat that stands at Rs.10,000.
