AP State Co-operative Marketing Federation chairman Kanchi Rama Rao is going to join Telugu Desam Party.
According to sources, he would meet the Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu in a day or two and fix a date for joining the party officially. He was a close associate of former Union Minister Parvataneni Upendra and former Deputy Chief Minister Koneru Ranga Rao had enjoyed important posts during the Congress regime.
Rama Rao was the chairman of VGTM-UDA for one term after TDP leader Tumati Premanath. He was an aspirant of Congress ticket for Tiruvuru Assembly constituency but never got it. He was elected as Krishna district Cooperative Marketing Society Chairman in November 2005 and became MARKFED chairman immediately.
