The Medical Council of India has announced its move to have a new medical Register whereby every doctor in the country will have a Unique Medical Registration Numbers on the lines of Aadhaar.

Through Digital Mission Mode Project, a Unique Medical Registration Number will be generated to all the 10 lakh medical practitioners in the country. This would be a solution to a number of issues including duplicate registrations across various States, renewal of registrations and to arrest growing fake medical practitioners.

The doctors have to login the MCI website and apply for UPRN. The doctors who did PG courses can also update on the same number. With this, the people can now be able to know the details of the doctors across the country.
