Jagan Mohan Reddy addressing a press conference today said that the statement of Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley is nothing new but repetition of the old statement.

He said that the State could not get Special Category Status due to Chandrababu Naidu. Jagan said that Chandrababu Naidu who appreciated the financial package in lieu of Special Category Status announced by Jaitley has appreciated at a mid night press conference now took a U turn and heed to the demand of the people of the State. He said that Chandrababu should not have welcomed the Special Assistance at that time, the situation would have been otherwise.

Jagan said that Chandrababu Naidu has to how his head to the people’s aspirations in getting SCS. People’s sentiment has promoted Chandrababu to direct his two Union Cabinet Ministers to step down from their posts. He accused that Naidu lacks values, commitment and sincerity.

Jagan reiterated his stand of moving no-confidence motion against the NDA government on March 21 and the date has been fixed to give time to Chandrababu. He dared Naidu to move no-confidence motion against the Government for which his party will support it or ‘we will place the motion which should be supported by TDP if have commitment’.

The decision of Naidu to get their ministers step down from Union Cabinet is the victory of the people. He demanded that all the 25 MPs from the State should submit resignations to mount pressure on the Centre for achieving the SCS. He said that the 14th Finance Commission never recommended ‘not to grant SCS’ to the State. He said that YSRCP will support to any party that grants SCS to the State. The corruption in the State is very rampant and with the monies received by corrupt means have purchased the party MLAs. He reminded that they were caught red handed while bribing the MLAs.

In this back drop, it is to wait whether the TDP moves no-confidence motion not to give the credit to YSRCP. Even after three days of Parliament session, the Centre has not mentioned anything about the State.

It may be recalled here that AICC president Rahul Gandhi who announced that the party would first grant SCS to Andhra Pradesh after coming to power in the next general elections. Jagan in his media conference categorically stated that his party would definitely support Congress, BJP or Third Party whoever grants SCS to the State.

It is worth notable that the Prime Minister has not responded to the statement of the TDP chief's decision of withdrawing the party members from Union Ministerial berths.
