Hyderabad High Court gets new six new judges

The President of India today appointed six judges to the High Court of Judicature at Hyderabad as per a notification issued by the Joint Secretary (Law and Justice) S.C.Barmma.

The newly appointed judges are:

  • 1. Durvasula Venkata Subramanya Suryanarayana Somayajulu
  • 2. Kongara Vijaya Lakshmi
  • 3. Potlapalli Kesava Rao
  • 4. Manthoj Ganga Rao
  • 5. Abhinand Kumar Shavili
  • 6. Todupunuri Amarnath Goud

Kongara Vijaya Lakshmi:: She was born on September 20, 1960. She had her schooling at Holy Mary High School at Saifabad in Hyderabad up to SSC and did her Intermediate at Vanita Mahila College at Nampally and graduation in B.Com. at RBVR Reddy College, Bahudurpura. She did her Law from CR Reddy Law College, Eluru of Andhra University and bagged gold medal. She did her LLM. She registered as an advocate in 1985 and began her career as junior under retired judge Justice S.Parvatha Rao. She did as additional advocate during 1991-95 and was appointed as government pleader in 1996.

Durvasula Venkata Suryanarayana Subramanya Somayajulu was born on September 26, 1961. He worked as President of Visakha Bar Association and President, AP Cricket Association, BCCI Legal Committee member, AU Senate Member. He worked as legal advisor for various corporate companies. Somayajulu is the son of D.V.Subba Rao who worked as an advocate and Mayor of Visakhapatnam and Chairman of Bar Council of India.

Potlapalli Kesava Rao was born on March 29, 1961 in Warangal. He did his schooling at Markaji High School in Hanumakonda, Intermediate at Government Junior College. He did his graduation in B.Com. and had his law from University of Law. He registered himself as an advocate in 1986. He began his career as junior to noted advocate P.Sambasiva Rao. He shifted his practice to Hyderabad and joined as Junior to M.V.Ramana Reddy. He was appointed as government advocate and from 2010 to 2016, he was CBI Special Standing Council and GHMC Standing Council.

Muntoj Gangarao was born in Guntakal in Anantapur district. His father Chintamani worked as gangman in Indian Railways. He did his SSC at Pendekal in Kurnool district, Intermediate in Anatapuram government junior college and did his B.Com. in government Degree College. He did his PG in M.Com at Hyderabad PG College and LLM from Osmania University. He registered himself as an advocate in 1988 and began his career with late judge Justice BSA Swamy. He worked as government additional advocate for two and APSFC standing council during 2006-10. He was appointed as government pleader in 2010.

Todupunuri Amarnath Goud was born on March 1, 1965 in Hyderabad. He did his schooling at Saint Patrix High School in Secunderabad, Intermediate at Wesley Junior College and B.Sc. from Begumpet Arts and Science College. He did his LLB from Sivaji Law college in Maharashtra. He began his career as an advocate and registered himself in 1990,

Abhinand Kumar Shavili was born on October 8, 1963. He did his schooling in Saint John High School at Abids, Hyderabad, Intermediate at Nrupatunga Junior college and B.Sc., in Nizam College. He did his LLB from Osmania University. He registered as an advocate in 1989 and began his career as junior to retired judge Justice Nuti Rammohan Rao.
