Health Minister opens dialysis units

Andhra Pradesh State Health Minister Kamineni Srinivas has opened two more dialysis units at Kanigiri and Kandukur towns at a cost of Rs.1 crore on Wednesday.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister promised to implement all the recommendations of a team of experts from Indian Council of Medical Research that visited Prakasam and Srikakulam districts with a higher concentration of the CCKD patients. With this two, five dialysis centres are available to patients including four in Ongole and one in Chirala under the Dr.NTR Vaidya Seva. One more dialysis centre under public private partnership mode at Markapuram is slated for inauguration.

The Minister said, over 500 patients in and around Kandukur and Kanigiri would be able to undergo twice a week dialysis in the centres.
