In another set back to YSRCP, Guduru MLA P.Sunil announced on Wednesday of his decision to join the ruling TDP.
Speaking to media after meeting TDP national president Nara Chandrababu Naidu, he said that he had made up his mind to join the TDP. ‘ I will be formally joining the ruling party in the presence of Chief Minister in Vijayawada on the auspicious Ugadi’. He recalled that ‘ as first citizen of Guduru, he had worked for all round development of the town and won accolades. He said that he took the decision after consulting his well wishers to fulfil the aspirations of the Guduru people who had elected him.
It may be recalled that YSRCP won seven of the 10 Assembly seats in the district. It is a homecoming for Sunil who won the coveted Guduru Municipal Chairman post as a TDP candidate. He served the TDP in various capacities like district official spokesman, Gudur town secretary, in-charge of some Assembly constituencies in Nellore and Chittoor district. He is a close follower of former MLA N.Prasanna Kumar Reddy.
