Former MLA Tatavarti Satyavati (74) died in the early hours today. She is survived by her husband Hanumantha Rao, two sons and a daughter.
She had represented Rajahmundry in 1978 after winning elections on Indira Congress ticket and worked as Parliamentary party secretary. She had created a record of being the first woman MLA from Rajamahendravram. When the Congress party was divided into Reddy Congress and Indira Congress, she stood behind former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and was rewarded with the party ticket.
MP M.Muarali Mohan, former MP Vundavalli Arun Kumar, MLAs Akula Satyanarayana and Gorantla Butchaiah Chowdary, GUDA Chairman Ganni Krishna, Mayor P.Rajani Sesha Sai and former APIIC Chairman S.Sivarama Subramanyam condoled the death of the former MLA.
