Five judges of the Hyderabad High Court accompanied by District Collector Kona Sasidhar and SP, Guntur urban Ch.Vijaya Rao inspected the Centre for Distance Education building on Acharya Nagarjuna University today.

Justice C.Pavan Kumar, Rama Subramaniyam, A.V.Seshasai, Sunil Chowdary and M.Satyanarayana Murty came to the campus and spent about 30 minutes visiting various blocks.

Meanwhile, several advocates from the Rayalaseema region tried to meet the Chief Minister at his residence to impress upon him the need to set up the High Court in the region. They were stopped by the police. The government was trying to set up a temporary High Court at Amaravati, they said.

Speaker Dr.Kodela Siva Prasad Rao had visited the H>H.Delchmann Auditorium and suggested a few changes. But the Chief Minister had shot down the proposals to set up government offices as he did not want to disturb the atmosphere on the campus. Several professors too objected the proposal to set up government offices as it would vitiate the ambience.

The move to locate the High Court in the CDE building makes little sense as it is located far away from the main road. There is little space for parking there, said a senior professor.
