The Ethics Committee of the Legislative Council came under sharp criticism today when its members allegedly escorted several dozens of people into the temple for the darshan of Lord Venkateswara Swamy under the List-I VIP category.

VIPs who come under List-I can visit like Ministers, Judges, bureaucrats and other dignitaries. Though the members deserve the privileges, the fact that 100 persons who were in no way connected to the committed were also extended the prerogatives has become a serious topic of discussion among the employees of the temple. The administration remained mute spectators due to feat that any intervention may land them in trouble.
