The State government is planning to use electrical vehicles in a big way and 1,500 of them will be run on the roads in Amaravati, Tirupati and Visakhapatnam said Energy department Advisor K.Ranganatham today.
He said that the State government had submitted indent for three vehicles with Energy Efficiency Services Limited. These energy efficient vehicles would save fuel and environmentally suitable. Speaking at the ‘Solar and Renewables Exhibition’, jointly organized by Confederation of Indian Industry, New and Renewable Energy Development Corporation of Andhra Pradesh, State Bank of India, NABARD, AP Tourism Development Corporation, Greenko and Koneru Lakshmiah University on Friday.
The electrical vehicles would be given to government departments and 500 four wheelers would be given to three cities each in the first phase. The energy efficient vehicles would enter the market once Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurates the electric vehicles programme in December this year, he said.
