The Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad (JNTUH) has identified eight faculty members who submitted fraudulent Ph.D certificates to the University to get into the rolls of private colleges. Three of them obtained the fraudulent certificate in Computer Science and Engineering Science, three in Business Management and one each in Pharmacy and Civil Engineering.

The JNTUH has blacklisted the fake certificate holders and legal action will also be initiated against them. The fake certificates were identified when the university uploaded the mandatory information of faculty members on the university’s website after a hue and cry was raised over the quality of engineering colleges in the State last year. JNTUH Registrar Prof.N.Yadaiah said that legal action would be initiated against them after going through the necessary process.

The duplicates were traced based on the PANs submitted during registration said the Registrar. He said that 21 faculty members were identified whose names were registered with various colleges in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. A few of them were on the rolls of five colleges each and many on four colleges each.
