Sources said that the Election Commission authorities are preparing to serve a fresh notice to YSRCP president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy for his remarks in Gospadu mandal on Thursday that ‘it is not wrong to hang Chandrababu Naidu’.

Returning officer for Nandyal constituency Prasanna Venkatesh said that a fresh notice will be served on receipt of an inquiry report from the nodal officer. The District Collector confirmed that he has forwarded a report to the Chief Electoral Officer recommending action against Jagan Mohan Reddy for his remarks made in a public meeting on August 3 in Nandyal to gun down Chandrababu Naidu.

Nandyal voters to give verdict on Chandrababu rule :: Jagan Mohan Reddy said that the by-election verdict should be the people’s verdict against the three-and-half year rule of Chandrababu Naidu and not merely voting to elect an MLA. He said that the TDP government never bothered about the development of Nandyal but the entire State Cabinet was stationed in the constituency for influencing by election. He alleged that Chandrababu was overconfident that he could do anything with money power, though social justice eluded all sections of people. He said that the people verdict should usher in a change in State politics.

Somireddy sees plot to postpone by-elections:: Minsiter for Agriculture Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy feared a conspiracy behind YSRCP chief Jagan’s repeated remarks on Chandrababu Naidu suspecting that he planned to get the elections postponed like RK Nagar by-election in Tamil Nadu. He led a silent protest rally by the party functionaries from NT Rama Rao statue in Nandyal. They tied black ribbons around their mouth carried banners that read ‘beware of Y.S.Jagan Mohan Reddy who is dreaming of becoming Chief Minsiter’ and ‘get mental check-up done for Mr. Jagan’.

Minister Narayana hits at Jagan for controversial remarks:: Minister for Municipal Administration P.Narayana said that Jagan Mohan Reddy was unfit for politics. He said that he failed to deliver both within the State Assembly and outside it. ‘Impatient as he is, Jagan is not fit for politics’, he said at a press conference. He alleged that he was instrumental behind the agitation of Mudragada Padmanabham.

Congress complaints to EC over money flow:: Former Union Minister Kotla Jayasuryaprakash Reddy has complained to the EC about the distribution of money among the voters by the TDP and YSRCP in Nandyal constituency and sought an inquiry and action on the issue. He urged the EC to seize the money from two contestants. He alleged that Chandrababu Naidu promised Rs.5,000 per vote during his tour of Nandyal. He further said that the TDP would not lose power if defeated and YSRCP would not come to power if won in the Nandyal elections.

Four youth trying to influence voters handed over to police:: YSRCP leaders on Friday handed over four youth to the police who claim to be engineering students from West Godavari accusing them of visiting the households in Moolasagaram in the 31st ward and warning the beneficiaries of the various schemes that they would forego the benefits if they did not vote to TDP. YSRCP leader Budda Sesha Reddy and others caught the students with the list of voters containing the names of beneficiaries of old-age and widow pensions, DWCRA and Chandranna Bhima, their residential address, caste, voter ID card numbers and mobile numbers. They admitted that they were pressed into service by TDP leaders to tell the people to vote for the TDP else they would lose the benefits. They said that nearly 1,000 students were going to various wards, said Sehsha Reddy.
