EC seeks explanation of Jagan Mohan Reddy over his remarks on Chandrababu Naidu

The Election Commission has taken suo motu cognizance of YSRCP president Y.S.Jagan Mohan Reddy’s remarks at a public meeting on Chandrababu Naidu in Nandyal to ‘gun down Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu on the road’.

The District Collector S.Satyanarayana and Returning Officer for Nandyal by-election Prasanna Venkatesh to forward a report to it. The Joint Collector and Returning Officer Prasanna Venkatesh said that the Election Commission’s directed him to serve a show-cause notice to Jagan for his explanation within 48 hours.

Meanwhile, the Nandyal III Town police booked a case against Jagan Mohan Reddy on charge of violating the Model Code of Conduct and provoking the people by his remark in SPG grounds on Thursday. The case was registered based on a complaint by M.Rajasekhar Goud, Chairman of Zilla Parishad.

It may be recalled that Tourism Minister Akhila Priya lodges complaint on Jagan Mohan Reddy.
