Speaking to media after launching the ‘e-challan’ system here, the Director General of Police advised youngsters not to participate in the ‘’padayatra’ proposed by Kapu leader Mudragada Padmanabham as the police would take stern action against all the participants.

On the e-challan project, Sambasiva Rao said the levying of challans on traffic rule violators would be done online so that the police could trace repeated violators. He said the fine amount could be remitted online by using the bank cards.

DGP Sambasiva Rao made it clear that the police would foil the proposed padayatra at any cost. ‘We are not going to remain mute spectators if someone is launching an agitation without taking prior permission. We will do our duty and those who have any objection can approach the court, he said.

Citing the Tuni incident, he said that no innocent would be booked in the cases and at the same time none of the guilty would be spared. We are trying to compensate the police and the media persons who lost their vehicles and cameras during the arson, said the DGP.
