A Division Bench of the Hyderabad High Court comprising acting Chief Justice Ramesh Ranganatha ad Justice Ganga Rao to said that the Chief Secretary must appear before it on January 29 in person in the cockfights case.

However, the Court has given exemption to the Director General of Police for his physical presence because of an all-India meeting of officers on security in Hyderabad on the same day. It may be recalled that the Division Bench was dealing with petitions filed by the Chief Secretary and the DGP seeking exemption.

It may be recalled that High Court expresses anger over non-implementation of court’s order in cockfights.
