Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has today issued orders to the Transport department for the seizure of private buses whose registrations had been cancelled by Arunachal Pradesh government.

The decision was taken by Chandrababu Naidu after a meeting with the officials of the Transport department. The decision will come into effect from the midnight of Tuesday. Transport department formed special teams to enforce the decision. The APSRTC authorities have been directed to make alternative arrangements for the passengers whose travel plans would be affected due to the seizure.

According to available source, over 900 private buses which were registered in Arunachal Pradesh but were being operated I the State and Telangana in violation of norms would be affected. Sources said that the private vehicle operators have got registered in northeastern States where the registration fee is relatively lower.

Meanwhile, the State government has sought a detailed information from Arunachal government on the owners and bus numbers of the erring vehicles. Transport Minister K.Atchannaidu said that Arunachal government had cancelled registrations of nearly 2,500 buses plying in violation of norms and 900 of them belongs to Andhra Pradesh and Telangana States.
