The State government is planning to recruit the Chartered Accountants as Administrative Officers to streamline the revenue and expenditure in the temples.

With this move in end, the financial powers of the Executive Officers will be stripped. The department of Endowments has started the process to recruit qualified professionals for 12 major temples such as Sri Kanaka Durga temple in Vijayawada, Srikalahasti, Srisailam, Annavaram and Simhachalam etc., a couple of months ago.

The department has issued notifications three times but the response is not on the expected lines and in view of that this, the officials have been asked to revise the pay hike ad make them lucrative.

Minister for Endowments P.Manikyala Rao said the government had plans to recruit CAs on one year contract basis. ‘It is observed that the pay might be a hindrance for well qualified candidates to opt for the posts. So, it was decided to pay Rs.70,000 to Rs.80,000 per month and if required Rs.1 lakh would also be considered’, he said.
