The Principal Court for CBI cases on Friday dismissed the petition filed by the CBI seeking cancellation of the bail given to YS Jagan Mohan Reddy in the alleged quid pro quo case.
The investigating agency moved the court seeking cancellation of bail on the ground that attempts were made to influence prosecution witnesses and violation of bail conditions. The CBI in the last week of March moved the court charging Jagan had violated the bail conditions.
It may be recalled that the case was registered against Jagan Mohan Reddy when he was MP of Kadapa. The main charge against him was that some firms owned by him had received investments as quid pro quo for the favours bestowed by his father late YS Rajasekhara Reddy while the latter was the Chief Minister of the united Andhra Pradesh from 2004 to 2009. Jagan was arrested in May 2012 and was in prison for 15 months and came out on bail in September 2013.
