Telugu Desam Party has decided to continue its agitation today after a day when the BJP released a 27 page report on the list of projects, institutions sanctioned and funds released,

The TDP claimed that the BJP’s claim were far from reality. The TDP has decided to mount its agitation against the Central government till the latter gives a written commitment with a timeline for every issue pending implementation. ‘The protest will continue. The TDP will not mortgage State interests and compromise on people welfare and development’, it said.

In an indirect reference to the YSRCP, the party alleged that it was unfortunate that the Opposition party was playing a dubious role in the Parliament. TDP national president Chandrababu Naidu took stock of the situation with the party president K.Kala Venkata Rao and MPs at his residence at Undavalli today.

Speaking to media, Kala Venkata Rao said the Centre has not released anything special to the State during the last three and half years. Guntur MP Galla Jayadev said the people of the State were not beggars and would not get carried away by the false BJP campaign. Srikakulam MP K.Rammohan Naidu said that the TDP has been demanding an action plan for 19 subjects listed in the AP Reorganization Act. It also wanted the Centre to implement six assurances given by the then Prime Minister on the floor of the Parliament.

Meanwhile, Vijayawada MP Kesineni Srinivas (Nani) said that ‘we will intensify the protest in the Parliament and will stall the proceedings until all the 19 assurances listed in the State Reorganization Act are fulfilled. There are rumors about new promises, but we are not in a position to believe in any assurances proposed by the BJP as numerous promises made were not honored. The party has given a deadline to the BJP till March 5 on which date the next session of Parliament is scheduled to begin.
