Seat belt message through roses

Kurnool:: Superintendent of Police A.Ravikrishna and Deputy Transport Commissioner B.Pramila offered roses to four wheeler drivers on the national highway near Venkataramana Colony in Kurnool today and advised them to fasten seat belts to save themselves in the event of accidents. In Kadapa, SP P.H.D.Ramakrishna and Deputy Transport Commissioner M.Basi Reddy offered roses to four wheeler drivers nears the District Training Centre on Rajampet bypass road. The officials would conduct inspections to penalize erring drivers and seize unlicensed vehicles across the district.

Six civic school students get 10 GPA in X class

Vijayawada:: Students of Municipal Corporation schools excelled in the SSC results that were announced today. As many as six students of various municipal schools secured 10 out of 10 grade points. Three students of GDET Municipal High School, one each student from Patamata high School, STVR Municipal High School and AKTPM High School in the city secured the maximum score in the examination.

Former Congress MP Prathap Reddy may join YSRCP

Kurnool:: Former Congress MP Gangula Prathap Reddy is toing with the idea of joining the YSRCP. In an informal meet with journalists at Nandyal, he said that he would consider joining YSRCP if its president Jagan Mohan Reddy invited him. He said that Nandyal bye-election is significant. It may be recalled that Bhuma Nagi Reddy who won on YSRCP switched over to TDP before his unfortunate demise. It has to be seen whether the convention would be applied or not, he said.

RTI training programme

Vijayawada::The AP Human Resources Development Institute and the AP CRDA are jointly organizing a two day training programme on ‘Right to Information Act-Appellate Authorities, Public Information Officers and Assistant PIOs at the CRDA office conference hall from May 8. The programme will begin at 10am.

Petrol dealers to protest on May 10

Vizianagaram:: The Vizianagaram district Petrol Bunks’ Association has decided to lift petrol and diesel from oil companies for a day on May 10 in protest against the government’s silence on their demand for increasing commission. At a press conference today, association president G.Nagi Reddy demanded increase in commission as per the Apoorva Chandra Committee recommendations. It was unfortunate that the government ignored the commission report, he said.

14 motorcycles recovered and five arrested

Kakinada:: The Central Crime Station police today arrested five persons including a minor boy and recovered 14 motorcycles estimated to cost Rs.3.6 lakh from them. DSP A.Pallapu Raju speaking at a press conference charged Bolipe Rajababu, Barika Venkata Ramana, Bontu Suribabu and a minor boy for stealing nine motor cycles in various police station limits. Similarly, he charged Chavvakula Durga Prasad with stealing five motorcycles cost about Rs.1.5 lakh.
