  • Amaravati:: Government declare holidays for schools from April 23:: AP Minister for HRD Ganta Srinivasa Rao said that holidays have been declared to all schools across the State from Aprl 23. He appealed the students to utilize the mid-day meals in all drought mandals during the holidays. He said that under take hope system, ration coupons is being issued and orders to this effect has been issued to the officers concerned. He said that the ration coupons for 42 days in 301 drought mandals in 8 districts are being issued. This will benefit nearly 25 lakh students, he said.
  • Amaravati:: Group III mains- option given for change of centre:: The APPSC clarified that the students appearing for Group III mains can change the examination centres from April 24 to 30 and this will be the final chance. It may be recalled that the screening test for Group III Panchayat secretary posts (1055) will beheld on April 23 across the State and the mains will be held on July 26 for those qualified.
  • Guntur:: Jagan Reddy to take up ‘Rythu Deeksha’:: YSRCP president Jagan Mohan Reddy will undertake a two day ‘rythu deeksha’ from April 26 to highlight the plight of the farmers who are reeling under the steep fall in the pries of commercial crops and the government’s apathy in setting up a price stabilization fund. Party leaders K.Parthasarathy, M.Rajasekhar and L.Appireddy said that farmers continue to bear the brunt of rising cultivation cost.
  • Rajamahendravaram:: 15 persons injured in explosion:: Three persons were injured when a gas welding machine exploded in a shop at Rally village of Atreyapuram mandal of East Godavari district on Wednesday. Villagers rushed to the shop and 12 of them were injured when a gas cylinder near the shop caught fire and exploded. All the 15 were rushed to the government hospital for treatment. Home Minister Nimmakayala Chinarajappa and Deputy Chairman of the Legislative Council Reddy Subramanyam visited the hospital.
  • Tirupati:: Chinese delegation visits Sri City:: A seven member delegation representing the Wujin district administration in Jiangsu Province of China led by their Chief Executive Dai Shifu visited Sri City on Wednesday. Sri City president (operations) Satish Kumar briefed the visiting members about the salient features of the industrial park. The delegation was here to assess the business potential and explore investment opportunities.
  • Vijayawada:: YSRCP seeks action against Assembly Secretary:: YSRCP ha demanded action against AP Assembly Secretary K.Satyanarayana as he does not have necessary educational qualifications. Speaking to media, MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy said that he lodged complaints with the Governor, Speaker and the Chief Secretary that Satyanarayana did ot have the required degree in law. The MLA alleged that the Assembly Secretary was also not eligible because there was a criminal case pending against him in the Banjara Hills Police station in Hyderabad.
