  • PR Minister Ayyanna Patrudu will receive the award from Prime Minister at Jamshedpur on April 24.

Andhra Pradesh has been selected to receive national awards from the Centre for successfully implementing measures to strengthen panchayats.

Minister for Panchayat Raj Ch.Ayyanna Patrudu would receive the devolution index award from Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the National Panchayat Raj Day function to be held at Jamshedpur on April 24. Principal Secretary (Panchayat Raj) Jawahar Reddy has received the information from the Central Government. The State was selected for the award considering the action taken in strengthening the Panchayat concept by computerizing 11 important services of a Panchayat including solid waste management at village level after successfully implementing at mandal level, making special efforts to increase the revenue of the Panchayats by developing a soft-ware RATR tax collection online for daily checking of revenues and creating a development master plan for every village.
