Anantapur:: Leopard cub found dead:: a leopard cu was found dead on Monday on the outskirts of the Siddapuram village of the D.Hirehal mandal of the district. Forest officials went to the spot along with a veterinarian to investigate the matter. Forest officials said that the cub was between one and one and half year and the death was not due to poaching or any other unintended human activity.

Visakhapatnam:: Mega Lok Adalat on February 11:: A mega Lok Adalat will be organized on February 11 all over the district following the direction of National Legal Services Authority according to the District and Sessions Judge P.V.Jyothirmayi. Civil, criminal cases and those pending under Motor Vehicle Act or in family courts, banks or relating to civil tax, among others could be taken up at the Adalat. Around 3,000 cases pending in various courts have been identified.
Visakhapatnam:: Honorary doctorate to Prof.R.Venkata Rao:: Professor R.Venkata Rao, Vice Chancellor of National Law University, Bengaluru and former Principal of Andhra University, Dr.B.R.Ambedkar College of Law will be conferred honorary doctorate by Utkal University at its convocation on Friday. The doctorate will be given by Governor of Odisha S.C.Jamir.
Visakhapatnam:: YSRCP demands White Paper on investments:: The YSRCP has demanded that a White Paper be released on the investments made and the employment generated so far in the back drop of the State government’s claim of getting over Rs.10 lakh crore investments in the two day CII summit recently held in the city. District party president G.Amanath said that the government claimed that four lakh jobs would be generated from Rs.2.4 lakh crore investments after MoUs were signed in 2016. He alleged at a press conference on Monday that the investments already made by public sector units or in the pipeline were also shown as a result of the summit to inflate the figures. He said that socio-economic survey by the Union government for 2015-16 had stated that 26 per cent of MSME units in the State were closed down.
