  • Amaravati:: Last date for submission of Degree lecturer applications:: APPSC Secretary YVST Sai said that the last date for submission of applications for the post of Degree College lecturers and Assistant Statistical Officers has been extended up to February 7, 2017.
  • Amaravati:: Kaikalur MPP suspended from BJP:: The BJP State unit has placed Kaikalur MPP Bandi Sadavathi for violating the agreement at the time of elections with TDP on sharing the position. According to agreement, BJP has to take up the post for the first two years and the rest by the friendly party. But Sadavathi expressed not to part with the post resulting suspension from the party according to a statement.
  • Visakhapatnam:: Sujana Chowdary inaugurates IPFC:: Minister of State for Science and Technology Y.S.Chowdary inaugurated Intellectual Property Facilitation Centre of National Research Development Corporation at MSME at Andhra University. He wanted the AU to become self-sufficient by finding ways and means to grow and creating endowment funds without depending upon the government. He promised all support to the university if proposals were made. CMD of NRDC H.Purushotham said that the centre, meant for the entire State would like to promote 100 start-ups in the next five years and help file 100 patents by researchers.
  • Hyderabad:: Kolagatla appointed as convener for Uttarandhra districts:: YSRCP central committee has appointed MLC Kolagatla Veerabhadra Swamy as the party convener for Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam districts. A statement issued by the party on Saturday said that the appointment came following the directions of party president.
  • Hyderabad:: Over 10 lakh cases pending in courts in the State:: State wide legal awareness campaign launched on Saturday. Justice Ranganathan, also Patron-in-Chief and Executive Chairman of the Andhra Pradesh Legal Services Authority (APLSA), said the huge pendency of cases was due to increasing litigations. Focusing on the Alternate Dispute Resolution (ADR) mechanism was the need of the hour. This would reduce the burden on the judiciary and also bring down the backlog besides helping the litigant get relief, he said.
