  • Visakhapatnam:: Refresher programme for AR police:: A mobilization programme for the District Armed Reserve Police was inaugurated by Superintendent of Police Rahul Dev Sharma at Kailasagiri on Friday. The participants would be given orientation in P.T., parade, weapons and tactics, field crat, mob operation, firing practice and yoga during the fortnight programme.
  • Visakhapatnam:: Ten day ‘Navya Andhra Pustaka Sambaralu’ from January 27:: A ten day ‘ Navya Andhra Pustaka Sambaralu’ will be held at AU Engineering College Grounds from January 27. The programme is being jointly organized by the Department of Language and Culture, Vijayawada Book Festival Society and NTR Trust. The primary objective of organizing the programme is to encourage book reading culture and encourage youngsters to pick up the habit at a young age. Former RBI Governor Y.V.Reddy, former director of NCERT Krishna Kumar and sociologist and academician Ashis Nandy would be delivering lecturers.
  • Visakhapatnam:: Former Chief Justice of India Venkatachalamaiah would deliver PV memorial lecture:: Lok Nayak Foundation is organizing the 5th P.V.Narasimha Rao memorial lecture and the 13th Annual awards function at Dr.B.R.Ambedkar Assembly Hall in Andhra University on Saturday with the former Chief Justice of India Justice M.N.Venkatachalamaiah would deliver the lecture on the topic ‘ Civilization-culture-society’. Supreme Court Judge Justice Jasti Chelameswar would preside. Supreme Court judge Justice Lavu Nageswara Rao, Director of Judicial Academy of India Justice Gode Raghuram, senior journalist K.Ramachandra Murty and Dupati Vijay Kumar of EMESCO Publications would participate in the programme.
  • Hyderabad:: Special Trains between Secunderabad-Kakinada Town::In order to clear extra rush of passenger traffic South Central Railway will run Two special trains between Secunderabad-Kakinada Town as detailed below. Accordingly, Train No. 07434 Secunderabad – Kakinada Town Special Train will depart Secunderabad at 19:15 hrs on 25th January, 2017 and arrive Kakinada Town at 05:15 hrs on the next day. In the return direction, Train No. 07435 Kakinada Town-Secunderabad Special Train will depart Kakinada Town at 18:10 hrs on 29th January, 2017 and arrive Secunderabad at 05:00 hrs on the next day. Enroute, these special trains will stop at Nalgonda, Miryalaguda, Piduguralla, Sattenapalli, Guntur, Vijayawda, Eluru, Tadepalligudem, Rajahmundry and Samalkot stations in both the directions.
