Chittoor:: Suspected swine flu death:: The death of a homemaker reportedly due to swine flu led to a commotion at Chukkavaripalle village of Irala mandal in the district. Medical authorities are yet to confirm the reason behind the death of a 28 year old homemaker who had complained of illness last week and was treated at a couple of private hospitals. She was admitted to CMC Hospital at Vellore where she died on Monday.
Srikakulam:: High level team for Uddanam:: A high level team led by Minister for Medical and Health Kamineni Srinivas will visit Uddanam region in the district on Thursday to study the condition of patients suffering from Chronic Kidney Disease. Senior medical professors including Vice Chancellor of Dr.NTR University of Health Sciences T.Ravi Raju will interact with the patients and enquire about their food habits. They will also study the condition of the soil, pesticides used for crops and the extent of water contamination. The Minister will submit a detailed report to the Union Health Minister and will seek a permanent solution to the problem.

He explained him of various technological initiatives being implemented in the State for real time governance and mentioned that he was keen on increasing digital transactions to 70 per cent by March this year according to a release from CMO’s office.
Visakhapatnam:: Purushottapatnam scheme to be ready in nine months:: The Lift irrigation scheme at Purushottapatnam on the Godavari will be ready in nine months said Water Resources Minister Devineni Umamaheswara Rao. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu laid the foundation stone to the lift scheme in the first week of the month. Water will be lifted at Purushottapatnam using 10 pumps into the Left Main Canal 10 km away at 1.9 km of the canal, he said. He said that the strengthening and deepening of the Kanithi Balancing Reservoir damaged in Hudhud cyclone has also been taken up at a cost of Rs.44 crore. Chief Minister would launch work on the diaphragm wall and manufacturing of 48 steel gates for the Polavaram project on January 29.
