Amaravati:: Two DROs appointed for two districts:: The State government has appointed to two DROs for two districts in view of MLC elections. Endowments department Land protection officer N.Satyanarayana of East Godavari has been posted to Srikakulam as DRO. B.L.Chennakesava Rao who is working in CRDA has been appointed as DRO for East Godavari district and the Principal Secretary (Finance) JC Sarma has issued orders to this effect.
Kurnool:: Woman dies of swine flu:; Ghousia (47) of Dhone died of swine flu at a private hospital in Hyderabad. The woman, who fell sick about a week ago was admitted to the Kurnool General Hospital where doctors said she had contacted swine flu. She was taken to Hyderabad where she died while undergoing treatment. Three swine flu cases were detected in the district so far.
Vijayawada:: Social Welfare Minister ready for a debate on Sub-Plan funds:; Minister for Social Welfare Ravela Kishore Babu has said that he is ready for a public debate on expenditure incurred under the sub plan for Dalits and tribal people. He said that 96 per cent of the funds has been spent in 2016-17 for SCs and STs. A sum of Rs.6,077 crore had been earmarked for 2014-15, Rs.7,783 crore for 2015-16 and Rs.12,000 crore for the current financial year, he said in a statement.

Hyderabad:: Mudragada Padmanabham to undertake one day Satyagraha Deeksha:: Kapu leader and former Minister Mudragada Padmanabham will take up one day Satyagraha deeksha on February 26 demanding inclusion of Kapu community in the list of BCs by the AP Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu said a statement. He decided and asked the people in districts to take up the deeksha at their respective district headquarters.
