Dalits remove fence of chemical unit

Vizianagaram:: Dalits of Kovvada Agraharam in Pusapatirega mandal allegedly demolished fencing around 17.67 acres of land and planted teak saplings on Thursday. The land was allotted to S.V.L.Life Sciences Private Limited to et up a bulk drug unit at a cost of Rs.25 crore. The Dalit farmers have been demanding compensation in accordance with the Land Acquisition Act 2013. CPI(M) district secretary Tammineni Suryanarayana and State general secretary of Vyavasaya Karimika Sangham V.Venkateswara Rao led the protesters said that the government without issuing prior notice to the Dalits had allotted the land to kin of ruling TDP MLA.

Chandrababu to launch ‘Jalasiriki Harati’ on Friday

Kurnool:: Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu would launch ‘Jalasiriki Harati’ after switching on the motors of the Muchumarri Lift Irrigation Scheme. He would also inspect the pump house and head works at Muchumarri village of Pagidyala mandal in the district. He would interact with the farmers and address a public meeting.

Red sanders logs seized in Bengaluru

Tirupati:: Tirupati Urban Police raided a go down at Nagadanahalli near Bengaluru and seized 31 red sanders logs and a mini-van on Thursday. The police arrested A.Siva, one of the two persons while the other fled away from the spot.

Ayesha Meera case-SIT to set up

Hyderabad:: The AP government informed the High Court that is has constituted a SIT to re-investigate the murder case of Ayesha Meera, B.Pharmacy student but the orders have to be issued by a higher court for reinvestigation. An affidavit was filed by the Secretary, Home to this effect before a Division Bench Comprising Acting CJ Ramesh Ranganathan and Justice Uma Devi on Thursday.

Hari Krishna Prasad appointed as technical advisor to RTJC

Amaravati:: The Principal Secretary B.Rajasekhar on Thursday issued orders appointing Vemuri Hari Krishna Prasad as the technical advisor to Real Time Good Governance Committee. Here, it may be mentioned that he was accused in the theft of Electronic Voting Machines. A case has been already registered against him on May 12, 2010 in Mumbai. His brother Dr.Vemuri Ravi Kumar Prasad was appointed as Non-Resident Telugu people wing. There were allegations that the Fibre Grid and e-Pragati projects were entrusted to them.

D.Ed examination fee to be paid before September 18

Amaravati:: State government examinations director V.S.Bhargava in a statement said that the D.Ed second year examination to be held in the month of September, the fee has to be paid by September 18.

Hike in the salaries of APPSC Chairman and members

Amaravati:: The State government has hiked the salary of the Chairman of APPSC to Rs.2.25 lakh per month while Rs.1,82,200 for member. This is in accordance with the seventh Pay Commission recommendations said the General Administration . This will come into effect from January 1, 2016. The APPSC is having six members along with Chairman.
