Roof collapse three of the family die

Anantapur:: Three persons died and a girl was injured severely when the roof of their house was collapsed while they were asleep at Malyavaram village of Battalapalli mandal late on Tuesday night. The deceased were identified as Katamayya, a daily wage worker, and his wife Rukmini and son Babu. Their daughter Rupa (3) wjp was injured was rushed to RDT hospital at Battalapalli and her condition was said to be critical.

ONGC plugs gas leak

Antarvedi (EG Dist.):: People panicked for a few minutes after they observed gas leaking from an ONGC pipeline near Adarsh Nagar on Wednesday. A pinhole line leakage was observed in the flow line of well. The ONGC emergency team rushed to the spot closed the well, isolated the leakage, and de-pressurized it.

Train passengers fobbed

Vijayawada:: The passengers of Chennai Egmore-Kachiguda Express (Train No.17651) were robbed of their valuables late on Tuesday night. The Malyala and railway police said miscreants attacked four coaches (S1,S3,S6 and S7) and relieved six passengers of 24 sovereigns of gold ornaments, Rs.2,000 in cash, two mobile phones, and other valuables. They were robbed between Dhone and Malyala stations when the train halted to give way for another train said railway sources.

K.Chandrasekhara Rao likely to visit Durga temple on September 27

Vijayawada:: Telangana Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhara Rao is likely to visit Sri Durga Malleswara Swamyvarla Devasthanam to present a nose stud to the presiding deity on September 27. He is visiting the Kanaka Durga temple to fulfil a vow he had made earlier that he would present gold ornaments to various deities if a separate Telangana was formed. He present gold ornaments worth Rs.5 crore to Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala earlier year on behalf of the government.

Sattenapalli former MLA Ravela Venkata Rao passed away

Sattenapalli:; Sattenapalli former MLA Dr.Ravela Venkata Rao (86) died of cardiac arrest on Wednesday. He won on Congress ticket in 1978-83 general elections. He earned good name and shifted to politics from medical profession. AP Speaker Dr.Kodela Sivaprasada Rao called on the family members and expressed condolences.
