Subrahmanyam made consultant of APEDB

Rajamahendravaram:: C.V.Subrahmanyam, economist, expert in banking finance and former CEO of Aryapuram Cooperative Bank was appointed as a consultant of AP Economic Development Board (APEDB). He assumed charge at Hyderabad on Monday.

Vundavalli demands White Paper on Polavaram

Rajamahendravaram:: Former Congress MP Vundavalli Arun Kumar has demanded a White Paper on the progress of work on the Polavaram major irrigation project. Addressing media, he questioned the Chief Minister’s claim that the coffer dam would be completed by July 2018 to facilitate release of water from the Left Main Canal. He said that only 3 to 7 per cent of work was done at the main dam, crest gates, lining, earthwork and structures. Under these circumstances, how the people will believe that water will be released by July 2018?, he questioned.


BJP State meeting at Ongole on Tuesday

Vijayawada:: The BJP is holding its State office-bearers’ meeting at Ongole on Tuesday. Party’s national organizing secretary V.Satish will participate as the chief guest according to a press release. The meeting will discuss strengthening of the party at the polling booth level.

ACB unearths Rs.10 crore illegal assets of the legal metrology official

Kurnool:: The ACB today conducted raids on the premises of Nangoth Swamy, District Inspector of Legal Metrology, Kurnool on July 15 while he was accepting a bribe of Rs.30,000 from the owner of a weigh bridge in Kurnool to renew his licence. During the subsequent investigations, the accused owned properties disproportionate to his known sources of income. According to Kurnool ACB DSP C.Jayaramaraju, the unearthed assets worth Rs.10 crore. The accused owned tow four-storeyed buildings in Erragadda, Hyderabad, besides five flats in Ranga Reddy, Medak, Hyderabad and in Vijayawada. Meanwhile searches are in Kurnool, he said.

Bihar Deputy Chief Minister visits Amaravati

Vijayawada:: Bihar Deputy Chief Minister S.K.Modi has visited Amaravati. He appreciated the successful pooling of over 30,000 acres of land for the construction of capital city. He had a meeting with the AP-CRDA Commissioner C Cherukuri Sreedhar and Special Commissioner V.Rama Manohara Rao at the CRDA office. He was on a visit to study the land polling scheme implemented in Amaravati.

B.Pharmacy results announced

ANU(Guntur):: The B.Pharmacy examinations 3 / 4, 5 semester , 3 / 4, 6 semester regular examinations that were conducted in April this year under the purview of Acharya Nagarjuna University were released. The results can be had on http://www.anuc.ac.in. Candidates seeking revaluation can apply by paying Rs.1,210 per paper before September 20.
